1.Get the main idea of the text 2. Clarify the opinions in the text 3. Know some advantages and knowledge(知识目标) disadvantages on eating meat. 1. Use the skimming and scanning skills to find information 2. Use 5wh-questions to analyze the abilities(能力目标) text 3. Read the text in a correct way

1.Be aware of what 3.Aims of the emotion (情感目标) a balanced is and have a deeper understanding of what we should eat.

4.Teaching key points and teaching difficult points (教学重点、难点)
In this period, my teaching key points is to guide students to read the text in a correct way. My teaching difficult points is to guide the students to clarify the opinions in the text.

Step 1 Pre-reading (播放图片,创设情境,引入话题 )
Ⅰ.Debbie and Simon are having lunch in a restaurant. Could you tell me what they are having for ?

Purpose: arouse students’ interest in the topic of this chapter

Ⅱ.Do you know what they want to eat?
I want to eat… I like to eat…

Purpose: lead in the topic of this chapter and guide students to state their opinions on food

Step 2 While-reading Task1. look at the title, the introduction and the picture of the article on page 75 and predict 5wh-questions.

Where When 5Wh-questions
Purpose: lead the students to use skimming skill to predict the article

Task 2 Reading comprehension(学生自主阅读、 教师方法点拨)

Ⅰ. Skimming 跳读 Ⅱ. Scanning 找读 Ⅲ. Guessing words(猜词)
Purpose: guide students to practice reading skills: Skimming, scanning, guessing words through the text

Task 3 Clarify Debbie’s and Simon’s opinion
Girls read Debbie’s words and boys read Simon’s words

Girls---Debbie

Boys---Simon

Purpose: lead the Ss to clarify Simon’s opinion and Debbie’s opinion by reading

Task 4.Read softly together with the recording and pay attention to the pronunciation (语音) and intonation(语 调).
Purpose: lead students to read the article in a correct way

Task 5. Summary Use the mindmap(思维导图) to summarize the article Where When

Purpose: students will have a deeper understanding of the Simon wants to be a vegetarian Debbie doesn’t want to on main idea, Simon’s opinion and Debbie’s opinionbe a vegetarian eating meat and vegetables in the text.
