1. add v.添加，加，补充说
Eg. He doesn’t know how to add.

2. calm adj．平静的，镇静的, 沉着 的；vt＆vi．(使)平静，(使)镇静
? calm作形容词时，主要用于指天气、海 洋或人的心情平静；作不及物动词用时， 常与down构成动词短语calm down；也 可作及物动词，意为 “使……平静”。 ? He remained/ stayed/ kept calm in an emergency situation．

? join, join in, take part in 和 attend
1)join有两个用法： (1)指加入某个党派，团体组织等，成为其 成员。 When did your brother join the army? (2)和某人一道做某事， join sb. in (doing) sth。 Will you join us in the discussion?
2)join in , take part in 多指参加某种活动。
? They are going to join in/ take part in the singing.
3) attend是正式用语，及物动词，指参加会 议，婚礼，葬礼，典礼；去上课，上学， 听报告等。如：
He'll attend an important meeting tomorrow.
