What do Chinese parents think of it? American children always like to talk to people, They have the inherent（内在的）humor Even in the
first meeting with strangers, they know how to produce a little humor, so conversation is more interesting not boring. This sense of humor comes from the attitude – ―Don‘t take yourself seriously‖. In the U.S., we usually hear children and their parents call each other by their names. I asked an American parent about it, and he said, ―It is good, normal. Kids think of me as their friend, avoiding hypocrisy（虚伪）and politeness.‖ Look, they like to go straight. And in the American family, kids are respected, so children are willing to express their views even if some ideas are naive（天真的）and ridiculous. In the U.S, children‘s curiosity is very strong. As long as they do not understand, they will not stop asking. Once in a plane I met a little American girl beside me with brown-orange hair and in front of her was a toy bear. She smiled and started to talk to me. She asked me many questions. At that time, I found that like a magician, I opened the door of knowledge for her. So it is curiosity that leads people to the ocean of knowledge. 54．Which aspect of American children is NOT mentioned in the passage? Despite its small size, the honey badger will fearlessly attack if cornered. To understand the honey badger's fearless nature, you must look first to their existence. From birth the honey badger is at risk from actually any predator (捕猎者), including their own species. Once it is fully grown, the honey badger still faces many dangers. Adult honey badgers have no real home. They are constantly on the move, resting only at occasional abandoned shelters. Unlike most badgers, they do not build homes. This leaves the honey badger out in the open most of the time and in danger from predators. As a result the honey badger has been forced to. become highly aggressive and fearless. Another reason for their fearless nature is food. The honey badger will eat fruits, insects, and snakes. Their preferred food source is honey, however. They will follow the honey guide birds to the trees that contain nests, and the honey badger will then climb the tree and knock the nest to the ground, so honey badgers risk bee stings. They do build up a sort of immunity against them, hut on occasion they will even die from the stings. The same holds true to a certain extent with the poisonous snakes of their region. The honey badger loves eating them．This inevitably（不可避免地） leads to snake biles and the honey, badger is more immune to them than most animals．They are in great danger, but often come out on the winning aide of a fight with a snake． One of the most incredible tales of honey badgers being fearless is fighting face to face with a lion． is It
a fact that lions make meals of honey hadgera but the honey badger sometimes is able to scare away these fierce predators．The honey badger has sharp teeth and is known to attack people, though this is rare． 57．A honey badger will fearlessly attack when ． A．it is hungry and cannot find food B．it finds an animal that is not fierce C．it sees a predator from a distance by chance D．it is in a difficult situation or in danger 58．______ has（have）caused honey badgers to become fearless according to the passage． A．The outside environment B．Their usual practice and food choice C．Fighting against predators often D．Their size and immunity 59．Which of the following statements best prove honey badgers fearless? ． A．They sometimes fight with a lion B．They don't fear bee stings C．They eat poisonous snakes D．They often attack people 60．The passage is written mainly to tell us . As a child, he attended a rural primary school in his hometown, but later he had to give it up because of the Cultural Revolution and did farm work for many years. Fortunately, in 1976, he joined the army, where he worked as a librarian, a secretary, and later a teacher. It was not until 1981 that he started his own writing career. In the past few decades, he has published more than 30 novels, many of which such as Red Sorghum, Big Breasts and Wide Hips, Frog and so on have been translated into over 20 languages. In 2008, he was given Mao Dun Literature Prize. More to his honor, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature formally on December 10, 2012. As we know, Mo Yan‘s works have their own unique style. They are not only full of rich free imagination and fantastic description but also bear strong complex feelings of homesickness and complaints about his hometown. 注：以上作文仅供参考。具体作文评分标准见《2012 年高考陕西卷（数学 英语）考试说明》 。
