Other students worry people’s bad habits, 75 , might be the weak point of Beijing 2008. “In Athens, all the residents were very careful with their behavior and manners. When you recognize your teen is under stress, how can parents help your teen stay calm before an exam? Be involved. Parents need to be involved in their teen’s work. 71 _ What they look for is your presence — to talk, to cry, or simply to sit with them quietly. Communicate openly with your teen. Encourage your teen to express her worries and fears, but don’t let them focus on those fears. Help them get organized. 72 Together , you and your teen can work out a time—table in which she can study for what she knows will be on the test. Provide a calm setting. Help your teen set up a quiet place to study and protect his privacy. Give them a nutritious diet. It is important for your teen to eat a healthy, balanced diet during exam times to focus and do her best. 73 If this happens, encourage your teen to eat light meals or sandwiches. A healthy diet, rather than junk food, is best for reducing stress. 74 Persuade your teenager to get some sleep and /or do something active when she needs a real break from studying. Making time for relaxation, fun, and exercise are all important in reducing stress. Help your teen balance her time so that she will feel comfortable taking time out from studying to spend time with friends or rest.

Show a positive attitude. 75 Your panic, anxiety and blame contribute to your teen’s pressure. Make your teen feel accepted and valued for her efforts. II. 短文改错 2 篇(哈尔滨一模//哈三中等四校高三第二次模拟) Dear Abby, How are you? I’ve got a wonderful news to tell you. I have offered a scholarship at a university in Australia for my further education. Three hundreds and twenty students took the exam for it, but only a few were chosen and 1 was one of them. Therefore, my parents are not happy about it. They are strong against my going there. They say it is too far that they will not see me for a whole year and they are afraid that I will feel lonely and will not be used to the climate here. They can’t imagine a young girl like me live alone. They advise me to study in the capital instead. Then I’Il be able to continue living with them. How could I persuade them to accept the fact I have grown up? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------When I was studying in Kansas City last year, a hurricane swept through the city. We were sitting round the kitchen table while we heard the alarm. We ran down into the basement and laid on the floor. Then I heard a noise, like approaching train, which got louder and louder. The house began to shake! And then, all of a sudden, it stopped. We went to upstairs and tried the door to the kitchen, so it wouldn't open. The house directly across the street had completely been disappeared! We were relieved to see people coming from the basement unharming. Amazing, the upstairs of the house was unaffected. But the hurricane had broken all the windows in the kitchen, and the wind had blown the kitchen table—the one we were sitting minutes before—against the door to the basement.
