edures:
Step 1. Self-check
1. Students write down the important words of this unit at the teacher’s dictation. honey; nutrition; guarantee; diet; contribute; lack; available; complex; particularly; expert; stress; digest; balanced/balance; properly/proper; concentrate/concentration; nutritionist/nutritious 2. Students write down the important phrases of this unit at the teacher’s dictation.. enable sb to do sth.; as long as; depend on; contribute to; be lacking in sth.; cut out; all kinds of; lose weight; instead of; advise sb. to do sth.

Step 2. Important sentence structures
Let students fill in the blanks and understand the sentences. (Teacher give necessary explanation.) 1. as long as … 只要, 引导条件状语从句; 也可用 so long as As long as people eat enough dairy foods, eggs, and meat, they can get essential proteins. 2. It’s believed … 人们相信…… =People believe that… =Sb./Sth. is believed to + v. It’s believed that extra vitamins provide more energy. =People believe that extra vitamins provide more energy. =Extra vitamins are believed to provide more energy. He is said to go abroad next year. He is said to have sold his old house. He is said to be writing a novel. 3. either…or…要么……要么…… The simple truth is that you have to either eat fewer calories or use up more in order to lose weight. 当连接两个并列主语时,应该遵循就近原则。 Either you or he is to blame. 4. that 引导同位语从句 There is evidence that eating a big breakfast, particularly one containing whole grains and fruit, can improve your concentration and mood. 注意同位语从句与定语从句的区别。 I don’t believe the news that/which/- he told us just now. I don’t believe the news that he was beaten in the match.

Step 3 Further explanation
Ask the students to go through the part in the book that deal with the key words, the key phrases

and the key sentence structures. Ask as many questions as possible. Then Teacher gives necessary explanation.

Step4 Practice
Ask the students to finish the tracking exercises and then check the answers.

Step5 Grammar
将来意义的多种表示法。 1. will/shall + v. 2. be going to + v. 3. be to + v. 4. be about to + v. 5. 现在进行时 6. 一般现在时(begin, come, leave, go, arrive, start, stop, return, …) e.g. It is going to rain. You are to be back home by 9 o’clock tonight. We are about to leave. I was about to get on the bus when someone called my name. I’m leaving for Beijing tomorrow. The meeting begins at seven.

Step 6 Practice
Ask the students to finish the tracking exercises and then check the answers. Give the students necessary explanation.

Step7 Homework
1. Review what we have learnt today. 2. Complete the exercises in the Exercise Book.
