Teaching objectives : 1. To learn some new words about the film, such as: silver screen, director, acter, actress, scrip

t … 2. To know about the types of film, such as: science fiction film, action film, horror film… 3. To use some useful expressions to talk about a person’ film . Teaching important and difficult points: 1. Learn the new words of the film. 2. How to talk about a person’s life. Teaching methods: TBLT, bottom-up Teaching aids: Tape, a tape recorder, blackboard, chalk Type of lesson: vocabulary, speaking Teaching procedures: Step 1 Greetings Step 2 Learn the new words 1) Do a brainstorm to learn the new words 2) Students read the new words together Step 3 Learn the types of film 1) Lead the students to speak out the types of film using the four famous films in Warming Up. Science fiction film, horror film, cartoon film, historical film, action film. 2) Learn other types of film, such as: romantic film, war film, adventural film. 3) Students read the types of film together. Step 4 Speaking 1) Divide the students into two groups, and girls are in group A, and boys are in group B. 2) Group A listen to the short biography of Meryl Streep, and group B listen to the short biography of Keanu Reeves. 3) After listening, the students answer the following questins on the blackboard: Questions about Meryl Streep: a) When and where was she born ? b) What did she do after highschool? b) When did she make her first film? Questions about Keanu Reeves: a) When and where was he born ? b) When did he act in his first film? c) When was he asked to play a role in the film Speed? 4) Check the answers together.

5) Group A use the questions about Keanu Reeves to interview group B and vice versa . 6) Teacher plays the journalist and interview one girl ( Meryl Streep ) and one boy ( Keanu Reeves ). 7) Teacher explains language points: play a role in, work as, during the 1980s and 1990s, in the beginning = at first, make money Step 5 Summary Students read the words and expressions on the blackboard. Step 6 Homework 1) Teacher explains the useful expressions on P30, then students read them together. 2) After class, students try to interview each other in pairs using the useful expressions according to the two short biographies, and preview Reading. Reflecion: ( to be written immediately after the lesson )
