amusement for Wang Ganghui, a senior majoring in biochemistry at Ji'nan University. Until last month, the 21-year-old had believed that he was part of a broader movement. Recently, however, Wang's micro blog is silent. The reason? It's because of a woman known as "Zhao Meimei". Earlier this month, Wang joined many other users to criticize the US-based student for her wealthy overseas life, because they thought her money came from corruption since her mother was a local official. But later Wang found out that the woman student was actually being supported by her father, a hard-working businessman. "I felt guilty… Someone hid part of the truth to make a conflict. The worst thing is – I did not even have a chance to apologize to her," he says. Wang is not the only young Internet user to be confused by an online world made up entirely of broken information. According to official statistics, the number of micro bloggers in China now exceed 300 million. For private users, a micro blog can provide real-time updates from anyone a user chooses to "follow". These can range from family members to celebrities (名人). Information can instantly be spread through "re-tweeting". In the public area, however, a micro blog can also become a link between users and the authorities. However, with the increasing popularity of micro blogs comes a number of problems. Chen Changfeng, deputy director of the School of Journalism and Communication at Tsinghua University, stressed two major types of misbehavior that can occur on micro blogs and upset young users. "Some marketers spread fake news just to make some person or product known to more people; others use the free channel to manufacture and spread fake news and rumors like a virus," Chen says. He says that an average micro blogger receives and transmits information, but when faced with such a vast amount of information, he may lack the ability to tell the difference between the real and the fake stories. Having realized this, Internet users have come together to combat ( 抗击 ) micro blog misconduct by forming voluntary groups such as the Rumor Clarification Association. The government and individual operators of micro-blogging sites have also stepped in to monitor posted content.
59.What's the purpose of showing Wang Ganghui's experience in the passage? A. To show how guilty he was. B. To tell us what micro blog is. C. To introduce the main topic of the passage. D. To tell us how many blog users there are in China. 60.What does the underlined word "corruption" mean in the third paragraph? A. The act of saying bad words to others in order to hurt them. B. The act of stealing money from others or companies only to be wealthy. C. The act of taking possession of money not belonging to him through his power. D. The act of earning money by selling goods to the government. 61. Which of the following is true? A. A micro blog can provide real-time updates from anyone. B. Chen Changfeng said there are two types of misbehavior that can occur on micro blogs. C. Some people spread fake information on purpose. D. Most people have the ability to tell the difference between the true information and fake news. 62 From the last two paragraphs we can see that________. A. Rumor Clarification Association is an official organization B. some measures have been taken to help make the internet more reliable C. the government can do more to make the internet more reliable D. Zhao Meimei has been clarified on the internet
C 2011 Top Education News "Tiger Mother" became well known both in the US and China after the publication of the Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother by Amy Chua, a professor of Yale University and a Chinese immigrant mother. In the book, Chua describes how she educates her two daughters in a strict "typical Chinese" way. The South University of Science and Technology of China (SUSTC), became "China's first independent university"-the only university to recruit students through its independent exam rather than the National College Entrance Exam adopted by almost all public universities in China. The First Experimental Elementary School of Weiyang district in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, hit the headlines for requiring students with a poor performance to wear a green scarf, distinguishing them from the good performance of the red scarf, a symbol for the Young Pioneer organization. D Half of the world’s population is affected by Asian monsoons（季风）, but monsoons are difficult to predict. American researchers have put together a 700-year record of the rainy seasons, which is expected to provide guidance for experts making weather predictions. Every year, moist （潮湿的）air masses，known as monsoon，produce large amounts of rainfall in India, East Asia, Northern Australia and East Africa. All this wet air is pulled in by a high pressure area over the Indian Ocean and a low pressure area to the south. According to Edward Cook , a weather expert at Columbia University in New York., the complex nature of the climate systems across Asia makes monsoons hard to predict. In addition, climate records for the area are too recent and not detailed enough to be of much use. Therefore, he and a team of researchers spent more than fifteen years traveling across Asia, looking for trees old enough to provide long-term records. They measured the rings, or circles, inside thousands of ancient trees in more than 300 places. Rainfall has a direct link to the growth and width of rings on some kinds of trees. The researchers developed a document they are calling a Monsoon Asia Drought Atlas. It shows the effect of monsoons over seven centuries, beginning in the 1300s. Professor Cook says the tree-ring records show periods of wet and dry weather. “If the monsoon basically fails or is a very weak one, the trees affected by monsoons at that location might put on a very narrow ring. But if the monsoon is very strong, the trees affected by that monsoon might put on a wide ring for that year. So, the wide and narrow ring widths of the chronology that we developed in Asia provide us with a measure of monsoon variability.” With all this information, researchers say they can begin to improve computer climate models for predicting the behavior of monsoons. “There has been widespread famine and starvation and human dying in the past in large droughts. And on the other hand, if the monsoon is particularly heavy, it can cause extensive flooding.” said Eugene Wahl, a scientist with America ’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. “So, to get a sense of what the regional moisture patterns have been, dryness and wetness over such a long period of time in great detail, I would call it a kind of victory for climate science.” 67.What’sthe passage mainly about？ A. The effects of Asian monsoons. C. The achievements of Edward cook. B. The necessity of weather forecast. D. A breakthrough in monsoon prediction.
68. It is difficult for experts to predict Asian monsoons because_________ A. it is hard to keep long-term climate records. B. they are formed under complex climate systems. C. they influence many nations. A. It is a great achievement in climate science. D. there is heavy rainfall in Asia. 69. What do we know about the research according to Eugene Wahl?
B. It should include information about human life in the past. C. It has analysed moisture models world wide, D. It will help people prevent droughts and floods. 70. Which of the following best describes the tone of this passage? A. Matter-of –fact B. Pessimistic C. Humorous D. Friendly. A “Green” Christmas spirit is upon us this year and it seems like everyone is wondering which kind of Christmas tree serves eco-friendly the best this year. One of the concepts that I have seen this year is whether to purchase a real Christmas tree or an artificial tree. Which one is more “Green”? People are leaning in the wrong direction when they assume that the artificial Christmas tree poses less of a threat to the Earth. The truth of the matter is, if you have to have a tree this year(because the greenest option is no tree) the real tree is far more eco-friendly than the fake one. Why? Most of the artificial trees are made of PVC. Beyond the fact that the creation of PVC emits nasty gases into the atmosphere, this plastic is definitely not recyclable, which means that you should throw away artificial trees and bury them in land-and that is something that eco-conscious people want to steer away from. If you want to take your sustainable Christmas tree, find a local organic Christmas tree farm. They don’t use the harmful pesticides and chemicals. You will want to start thinking and planning ahead in order to locate the best place to purchase your “Green” Christmas tree. Don’t forget to figure out what you will do with your tree after the holiday is over as well. Here are some Earth-friendly ways to dispose of your real tree this year: 1)If you purchased the tree at an organic tree farm and you are sure that it wasn’t treated with harmful chemicals, think about dumping it into s small lake or pond. It can offer a wonderful new play land for fish. 2)Most cities gather trees on a certain day after Christmas. Be sure to call your local township and ask them if and when they do this prior to the holidays. 3)You could replant it, however you will need to make sure that you choose the right tree and have enough roots to make this option work. Planning ahead is the key to hosting a Green Christmas this year. Map out where you will purchase your tree and where and how you will dispose of it prior to Christmas in order to achieve the most sustainable plans. You don’t have to go treeless to enjoy a Green Holiday Season…just make sure that you look into all of your options and choose the most sustainable option that is available in your area. Happy Holidays!

That many students have some mental problems also worries me. Mental problems have bad effects on both our studies and lives. Some students are so worried about exams and academic achievements that they can’t fall asleep at night. Some are discouraged and tend to lose their confidence because of constant failure in exams. Others can’t get along well with their parents or with their classmates. They always feel stressed and easily get angry. As a matter of fact, there’re many ways for us to deal with our mental problems. First of all, we can turn to our teachers for help, including our teacher of psychology. Second, communication is of vital importance. When we have a talk or discussion about our problems with our friends or classmates, we can feel greatly relieved. Last but not least, we need to develop a positive attitude towards our studies and our life. Wearing a smile is not only a sign of friendliness but also a cure for bad feelings. With the mental problems removed, we will deep in normal mental health and study happily.
