珍·古道尔

1960 年,年仅 27 岁的珍·古道尔,只身前往在周围人看来是一片 黑暗,充满野兽的非洲丛林,开始了她和黑猩猩长达二十多年的“同 居”生活。珍·古道尔对黑猩猩的研究扭转了人类很多错误的认识, 令人类改写动物及人类本身的定义。现在,已经 71 岁的她依然为自 己所钟爱的环保事业穿梭于世界各地, “我知道单凭我一个人的力量 不能解决世界上的环境问题, 但是我所做的事情仅仅是给人们带来希 望,告诉人们他们有能力改变自己所处的环境。” 女人猿泰山人生历程 刚会动的时候:喜欢在一些会飞或者可以移动的物体旁边爬行。 两岁:得到了一个心爱的黑猩猩玩偶。 4 岁半: “我爬进了一个空的鸡窝, 终于弄明白了母鸡下蛋的过程。 ” 这是她第一次接触动物行为。 11 岁:接触《生活在丛林中的人猿泰山》这本书。她萌生了一个 梦想,希望自己的未来能在丛林中和黑猩猩生活在一起。 23 岁:遇到了人类学家路易斯·利基教授,路易斯·利基教授邀 请她担任自己的助理。 27 岁:只身前往非洲坦桑尼亚的冈比国家公园,开始了与黑猩猩 的“同居”生活。 27 岁 ——— 41 岁:在非洲坦桑尼亚的冈比国家公园丛林中与黑 猩猩同居。 41 岁:由于战争和环境的关系,她离开了可爱的黑猩猩们。 44 岁:创立第一个珍·古道尔研究会,致力于野生动物,尤其是 黑猩猩的研究与保护。 57 岁:在坦桑尼亚创立了第一个根与芽小组,让青少年参与到环 境保护中来。

Of course she did not do all the work on her own. 当然她并非仅靠自己去做所有这一切工作的。 on one’s own 1) (without help 靠自己) I can solve this problem on my own. 我能自己解决这个问题。 2)( alone 独自, 独立地) I’m on my own today. 相关短语: call sth. one’s own 声称某物为自己所有 come into one's own 得到自己应得的东西 hold one’s own 坚持住; 支持住; 坚守住; 不被打败 of one’s own 属于某人自己的 e.g. The soldier is holding his own. 那个士兵还能坚持。 They all think that she has a mind of her own. 他们都认为她是一个有主见的人。 4. Watching a family of chimps wake up is our?.. 观察黑猩猩一家如何醒来是我们...... 动名词作主语: 主语是由不定式、动名词、从句构成的,谓语动词采用单数。 E.g. Working with you is pleasant. Seeing is believing. 5. Only after her mother came to help her for the first few months was she allowed to begin her project. 正常语序: She was allowed to begin project only after her mother came to help her for the first few months. 将 only 及其后面的状语提前放在句首,句子要用部分倒装语序,即将 be 动词、助动词或情态动词放在主语之前。 Only+状语“+部分倒装 1) 只有这样,我们才能学好英语。 Only in this way_______________________. 2) 到那时我才意识到我的错误。 Only then_______________________. 但 Only +主语时不倒装 Only Mary and Tom failed in the exam.
