本模块的中心话题是体育人物,所谈论的话题涉及中外体育明星、重大的体育赛事及各项体育运动。 旨在通过模块教学,让学生了解和认识体育和体育人物,陶冶学生的情操, 并能就所学的话题进行 写作。 Int

roduction 部分让学生谈论和描述三个著名的体育明星,学习和掌握关于体育的词汇; 讨论他 们最喜爱的体育运动。Reading and Vocabulary 部分向我们介绍了我国著名体育明星李宁及他的 成功事迹,让学生在领会文章的基础上, 认真领悟文章的弦外之音,即:我们应该勇敢面对失败, 不能气馁,要振作精神以取得更大成功。 二

说学情
在教学过程中,对学情的了解是教师因材施教的关键。高中的学生注意力有一定的稳定性,观察能 力很强,具有一定的目的性,系统性和全面性,已经初步实现从具体思维向抽象思维的过渡。他们 喜欢富有个性化的教学设计,喜欢接受新鲜事物。同时,自我意识增强,拥有强烈的主观能动性。 他们已具有了一定的自主合作和探究的能力,具有了一定的英语语言知识和英语应用的能力,具备 了基本的英语思考和英语表达的基本技能。 因此,设计这节课时,我充分考虑到学生的主体性,把自己作为与学生一起探讨的一员,以亦师亦 友的身份走进他们,以基础的语言启发他们,以轻松的话题开始,以愉快的交流展开合作,充分创 造机会让同学们都拥有成功的喜悦,在和谐的氛围中探究并完成教学任务。

三教学目标(三维目标) (一)知识与技能
1. 重点词汇与短语 retire, perform, retirement, background, brand, logo, advantage, guarantee, purchase, designer, gymnast, slogan, specific, symbol, on the increase, even though, as well as 2. 重点句子 P42

They included six out of seven gold medals at the 1982 World Championship. Li Ning retired with the feeling that he had failed. But it was this sense of failure that made him determined to succeed in his new life. The number of young people with money to spend was on the increase. If you go into a school or university anywhere, the chances are you will see students in Li Ning tracksuits with the familiar logo. 3. 技能目标 Enable the students to have a good understanding of sports personalities and their spirit. Help students analyze sentence structures to facilitate reading.

(二) 过程与方法
1. Use scanning and skimming skills to complete tasks. 2. Talk about the great sports personalities and sports. 3. Help students learn how to describe the sports personalities and how they succeed

(三)情感态度与价值观
1. Get students to raise their awareness of fearing no hardships by learning. 2. Encourage students to learn the spirits of the sportsmen. 3. Encourage students to take interest in sports.

四教学重点与难点
Talk about sports personalities. How to analyze the text and grasp the main idea of the text.

五教学方法
新课程提倡运用任务型教学途径,围绕核心问题,设定小任务;围绕文章内容,尽可能提供训练学生技能 的机会;开展自主性学习的课堂活动,强调合作探究与独立思考相结合。任务型教学:任务型教学 强调语言学习应该是在"做中学""用中学"。任务设计应该贴近学习者的生活,才能激发学习者的背 景知识,激发他们的学习的兴趣,语言才能在经意中习得。因此,应注意以下几点: a) Create an atmosphere with students-centered activities in which they are willing to get

involved. b) Get students to draw their own conclusion by participating in different tasks. c) Avoid too much teacher involvement.

七 Teaching procedures & ways (教学过程与方式)
StepⅠ Greetings and Revision T:Good morning everyone! Ss: Good morning, Mrs Ma. T: During the last period , we talked about three famous sportsmen and some sports. Now let ’s review. Please look at the screen. (Show some pictures to the students.) StepⅡ Pre-reading T: Well, please look at the photos carefully and discuss what you can see . (Students say something about the pictures according to the questions on the screen.) Ss: He is a gymnast. He is doing the gymnastic performance skillfully and beautifully. T: Do you know his name? Ss: Li Ning. T: Right, he is a famous gymnast who was called the prince of gymnasts. Let ’s study a passage about him and his life in sport. StepⅢ While-reading 1. Scanning Ask students to read the passage quickly and find the main information in the form on the screen. The students works and then check the answers with the whole class. 2. Skimming Get students to read the text again and then work in pairs to check the true statements in Activity 3 on Page 43.

After that , all students do together to choose the best answers on the screen. 3. Listening and getting the main idea of each part T: Now we are going to listen to the whole passage. After listening, try to get the main idea of each part. You can discuss your main idea with your partners. Part 1 (Para..1) Li Ning was a great sportsman. Part2 (Para. 2-4) Li Ning succeeded in his new life as a businessman. Parr3 (Para. 5) Li Ning’s dream of oping a school for gymnasts came true. StepⅣ Post- reading 1. Work in group of four and discuss the questions on the screen. (1) Why did Li Ning start a sportswear company? (2) Why has he been successful? 2. Do Activity 5 on Page 43. Then check the answers with the whole class. 3. Finish Activity 6 on Page 43. Then check the answers. 4. Finish the exercise on the screen. StepⅤ Language points 1. They included six out of seven gold medals at the 1982 World Championship.

Read the text three more times, and try to retell the story of LiNing. (For A & B level students.) 2. Try to use the important words and expressions by making sentences.(For A & B level students.) 3. Finish the exercises on 4th section in English Weekly. (For all the students.)
