Materials for Preparing Lessons 一、知识点拨 1.It must belong to Carla. belong to“属于”的意思。其中 to 为介词。例如 These books belong to me. 这些书是我的。 Who does this belong to? 这是谁的? 2.It’s much too small for him. Much too“实在太,非常”的意思,常用在形容词和副词前。例如: It’s much too cold here in winter. 这儿冬天非常冷。 He drove the car much too fast. 他开车太快。 too much“太多”的意思,常用在不可数名词前或动作名词后。例如: There is too much snow and ice in winter 冬天冰雪太多。 Watching TV too much is bad for your health. 看电视太多对身体不好。 3.It is less of a problem to be poor than to be dishonest. dis-前缀,放在形容词、副词、名词、动词前,表示否定、相反或相对。 例如: agreement 同意 disagreement 不同意 ability 能力 disability 残疾 advantage 优势;好处 disadvantage 不利;不利条件 honest 诚实的 dishonest 不诚实的 二、Activity and Probe Goal: To make inferences using can’t, could, might and must. Materials: Clothes and other items such as a shoe, a T-shirt, a notebook, etc. Procedure: Divide the class into four teams. Hold up an item and invite the teams to take turns making statements about who it belongs to using the words can’t, could, might and must. For example: T: (Holding up a red T-shirt)Who might it belong to? Team 1: It can’t be Carla’s. She doesn’t like red. Team 2: It could be Anna’s. She likes wearing T-shirt. Team 3: It might be Lily’s. She likes red. Team 4: It must be Alice’s. She has a red T-shirt. Each team gets one point for each correct statement. Students are allowed to make five statements about each item.
