第一节 (共 10 小题; 每小题 2 分, 满分 20 分)
阅读下面短文, 从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C 和 D)中, 选出最佳选项。
Will it matter if you don’t have your breakfast? A short time ago, a test was given
in the United States. People of different ages, from 12 to 83, were asked to have
a test. During the test, these people were given all kinds of breakfasts, and sometimes
they got no breakfast at all. Scientists wanted to see how well their bodies worked
when they had different kinds of breakfasts.
The rules show that if a person eats a right breakfast, he or she will work better
than if he or she has no breakfast. If a student has fruit, eggs, bread and milk before
going to school, he or she will learn more quickly and listen more carefully in class.
The result is opposite to what some people think. Having no breakfast will not help
them lose weight. This is because they are so hungry at noon that they eat too much
for lunch. They will gain weight instead of losing it. You will lose weight if you
reduce your other meals.
21. According to the passage, some people think without breakfast they will_____.
A. gain weight
B. get a good result in their work
C. lose weight
D. not be hungry at all.
22. Scientists wanted to know whether_____.
A. people were interested in breakfast
B. breakfast had any effect on work and studies
C. breakfast did harm to people ’s health
D. people would work better without breakfast
23. Which of the following sciences is not right?
A. It is bad for your health to have no breakfast.
B. No breakfast and more lunch may make you fatter.
C. If you don’t eat much for lunch and supper, you may lose weight.
D. The more breakfast you have, the more quickly you will learn in class.
Nearly all of us have a bad habit, whether we know it or not. Some people say they
want to get rid of（去除） it but don't know the proper ways. Here's some advice on
how to get rid of bad habits.
Make a list. Write down all the reasons why you want to stop a certain behavior，
how it's hurting you and why to get rid of it, this will help a lot. Look at that
Join in other activities. It's wise of you to do something else when you want to
stop your bad habit. If you get angry easily, for example, you can practice having
a deep breath or going for a walk.
Give yourself a present. Before you take action against a bad habit, decide what
you'll do to celebrate it if you reach your goal.
Keep off bad habits. If you are fat and want to lose weight, keep junk food out
of your house. If you are a heavy smoker with coffee, turn to tea and keep away from
friends who like smoking.
Be patient. Bad habits develop over years, so you probably won't be able to get
rid of them quickly. In fact, people often give up several times before being
successful, so you should be patient.
Find support. Don't be afraid to ask for support from friends, family or other people
who have the same bad habits as you. When you talk to others, they might be able to
provide advice or encouragement that you usually wouldn't get from yourself.

第三节 书面表达（满分 25 分） Dear Mr. Li,
I’m glad to tell you that I have made great progress in my English study since I became a senior high school student.
When I started senior English in the beginning, I found it much more difficult than what we learned in junior school and I almost lost heart. Later, I realized the importance of English, so I got up early every morning, recited English words, listened to English tapes and did a lot of exercises. I also asked my teachers and classmates for better ways of learning English.
Now, I’m improving my English greatly. And I’m getting more and more interested in learning it. Thank you so much for your great help in your class.
Wish you all the best.

W: She fell down when she was at the supermarket. (Text 6) M: Anne, would you please buy some lunch for me on your way back? W: No problem. But why not just join us? We’re going out to eat right now. One of my classmates works in the United States and invited him to visit last year. M: Your teacher has retired by now, hasn’t he? W: Yes, but he still lives at school. He likes being with children and tells stories to children whenever possible. He is busy writing a children’s book these days. He

Mrs. Baker was very tired. She had been working all day long, but the busiest time of her day was in the evening. Her children were picked up from school by her sister, Mrs. Smith, who brought them home by five. Mrs. Baker had to cook dinner so the children could eat at six, and then start on their homework at six thirty. If they finished their work by eight, they could watch TV for an hour before bed. At nine, they were sent to bed, but that was not the end of Mrs. Baker’s work for the day. She sat down for a moment to have a rest and think about what she had to do next.
“Now I must wash the dishes and iron the children’s clothes for the morning. Peter will come back home from work at ten, and he will be hungry. The dishes will have been washed and his dinner will be ready by the time he arrives, but the ironing will not have been done by then. In fact, I doubt whether that will be done until midnight.”
